Selectmen Reconsider Condemnation Over TOPICS Plan

Bennington selectmen again weigh condemnation of Shaftsbury businessman William E. Dailey to salvage $67,000 in federal TOPICS traffic control funds. Vermont deer wintering well say biologists

Biologists from the Vermont Fish and Game Department report deer wintering across the state fared pretty well through the past winter. Numbers are higher than last year, with regional variation. Mild winter allowed freer movement. Spring surveys covered 42 wintering areas, with only 10 showing deer loss from malnutrition.
