Readsboro State Rep Pushes Route 9 Funds Shift
Readstown legislator Kenaline Collins seeks to divert funds from the new Route 7 to Route 9 between Bennington and Brattleboro if an injunction halts Super 7. She pressed the request in Wilmington amid a tour with Gov. Davis and officials, saying any reshuffle would require next year’s legislature. She supports the highway overall but wants possible realignment of the Pownal Massachusetts line segment, and urged public letters to Highway Commissioner Gray ahead of Monday Burlington District Court action. The Welcome Wagon Club hosted Bennington Town Manager Edward R. Lamb who spoke on government, taxes, road work, home health, and unrepaired building, with new member Mrs. Madeline Donahue welcomed. Planning for the July clambake continued.
