North Bennington Elementary School Board hears proposal for a summer program for children with special needs funded via Title I. Superintendent George A. Sleeman says final approval is likely and plans to start July 1. The program envisions a classroom without walls with field trips and outdoor sessions.
Israeli commandos crossed into Lebanon to blow up a guerrilla house near Majdia while planes attacked targets near the border in retaliation for the Maalot massacre. Damascus and Beirut reported air battles and casualties as fighting continued on the Golan Heights. Israel denied a Syrian plane downing and warned of grave consequences from further attacks.

He met Meir and her negotiating team as disengagement seeks progress on the Golan Heights front amid a 67 day flare up and a cabinet session looming.
Former attorney general Kleindienst pleaded guilty to refusing to testify about the ITT antitrust case. He recalled Nixon ordering him to drop the suit in 1971 and said he extended time to appeal rather than comply. Jaworski praised his integrity and noted no criminal conduct in handling ITT.
Connecticut plans a $290 million system to convert daily 10,000 tons of household and commercial garbage from 169 towns into low sulphur fuels for electricity and saleable scrap iron aluminum and glass. First two plants near Bridgeport and Berlin aim to start by mid 1976 with full completion in six years.
