Bennington High School hosted the Catamount Chapter induction with Mara Lusis presiding. New seniors Judy Harper Kathleen Hollister Susan Riley Joe Paresky and juniors Anne Bahan Carolyn Comstock Ann Marie Goyette Barbara Powell Lynne Preston joined alongside provisional members Penny Bergquist Kathy Danforth Lillian Hurlburt Lynn Oldendorph Joanne Vallee. Richard W. Hayes, fresh from Bennington High, enlisted in the U S Air Force after graduation and will train at Lackland AFB.

Keller Named Benhi Commencement Speaker at Bennington High
Charles R. Keller director of the John Hay Fellows Program and author was chosen to deliver the Bennington High School commencement address at 8 30 p m on June 13 in the Benhi gym. Keller Yale educated taught at Yale in China Williams College Brown University and led the College Board AP program.

Selectmen Open Sewer Project Bids
Selectmen Tuesday night opened the two bids for sewer interceptor lines in Clark's Woods from local firms William E. Dailey Co. and William H. Morse Construction Co. Inc. Morse bid $21.362, Dailey $22.955. Review by federal and state officials will take about two weeks to compare against specifications.

Benhi Youths Win College Scholarships
Five Benhi seniors three girls and two boys have been notified of college scholarships. Mara Lusis will enter Middlebury College in September and was also accepted by Pembroke Adelphi and the University of Vermont. Constance Killian earned a scholarship to Vassar and was accepted by Pembroke. Barbara Webster chose Colby College over St Lawrence. Paul Hurlburt has offers from Brown and Union College. Ronald Pollock received acceptance and a scholarship to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Miss Jane Ann Dailey of 120 Grandview St is valedictorian and Miss Jane Elizabeth Leahey of North Adams Mass is salutatorian at Bennington Catholic High School. Dailey plans teacher training at College of Saint Rose Albany while Leahey will study English and journalism at Emmanuel College Boston.
