About 1,000 voters from member districts showed confidence in the Mt. Anthony Union School District board and administration as they approved the MAUHS 1968-69 budget of 1.75 million by voice vote. The meeting included weather disruptions but no budget opposition. Voters also authorized up to 20,000 for a vocational students’ house project to be sold for profit and up to 15,000 for a new water line and hydrants to improve high school fire protection. Civil Air Patrol planes later found a missing plane wreckage near Jay Peak, with Herbert A. Grace and his wife aboard. no survivors reported.

Death of Man And Wounding Of Woman Probed
A Brattleboro man, Joseph R. R. Robert, 32, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head and ruled a self-inflicted death. Patricia A. Capen, 28, also of Brattleboro, was found in the same car with five bullet wounds and in fair condition in Mary Hitchcock Hospital. David McBean, 17, of Dummerston found the couple on a logging road in Dummerston. Police say Robert died about 2 a.m. Saturday, and Capen had been in the car for 65 hours before discovery.
