Signs of Life On Post Office Project In Bennington
Late last week signs of life appeared for a new Bennington post office. Dayton J. Wakefield of the U S Postal Service in Vermont discussed tax questions with Sister Francis J. Hogan. Bids for construction are expected in about two weeks for a privately built and owned building to be leased back to the postal department. The site is on the south side of Elm Street near South Street. The Bennington Regional Planning Commission previously sought a better site but failed, with the village commission later taking over to address traffic concerns around the site.
