Toomey’s Mugs Recall Bennington’s Pre Instant Shaving Era

Bennington barber Bill Toomey preserves about 40 antique shaving mugs dating from a century ago. Each mug bears the owner's name and often a symbol or trade emblem, collected from local businessmen like tailors, grocers, and railroad workers. The mugs were imported from Europe and showcase a vanished custom as Toomey’s shop reflects old barbering traditions.
