Maine Udall delegates help deny Carter Maine majority
Steven Stycos, a 21 year old Bates College dropout and Maine organizer, led five Udall delegates and six uncommitted electees to deny Carter a Maine majority. Stycos, from Ithaca, organized by phone and in person, hitching rides and bumming work for Udall, hoping to push the nominee into the national convention as an alternate.
