Commissioner Reinhold W. Thieme of the state Water Resources Board said the office will investigate the recent relocation of the Walloomsac River west of Harmon Road by Morse Construction Co. He notes that river profile changes usually require a state permit and will have a survey today. gravel removal over 10 cubic yards also needs a permit. Gerald E. The Defense Department acknowledged it understated Safeguard missile costs by 1.2 billion dollars by excluding nuclear warheads. Including warheads brings total to about 7.8 billion, higher than the 6.6 billion figure seen in hearings. AEC estimates cover warhead development through 1976 and testing continues into 1973.
