National experts to speak at Vermont natural foods meeting
Bristol Vermont May 4 at Mt Abraham Union High School hosts Beatrice Trum Hunter Norman J Curtis and Ruth Desmond for a day of lectures and workshops on food safety organic farming and consumer protection. Registration runs 9 to 9 45 a.m. with a 1 admission for adults and 50 cents for students. A potluck luncheon is planned at 12 15 p.m.

The Bennington Recreation Department announces a two day hobby show and fair for seniors at First Methodist Church on Main Street. May 11 from 10 am to 4 pm and May 12 from 10 am to 2 pm feature handmade articles and paintings for display and sale. Senior citizens may display crafts by calling Mary Seidel at the Senior Center to reserve a space. coffee will be served to attendees.

Monsarrat Named Times Argus Editor in Barre
Nicholas Monsarrat of Williamstown was named editor of the Barre Montpelier Times Argus to succeed the late Stephen Billings. A statehouse reporter for Vermont Press Bureau the past eighteen months he replaces acting editor Jack Crowther who returns to the Rutland Herald. In other notes senior citizens winners at Mid-Town Lanes included Bernadette Sausville with high single 87 and high triple 253 while Ruth Carpenter took runner up with 187.
