Young Republicans back civil rights bill after reversal
The Rutland Vermont Young Republican Club executive committee reversed an earlier stance and voted to support the civil rights bill. The group had previously announced opposition and petitions to Vermont’s delegation. Eight of 23 attended the first meeting. 14 came to the second. the later vote was 10 to 4 after Allen dropped petitions.

Bradwell Youth Shoots Foot in Accidental Recount

A balcony porch collapsed ten feet at the home of Mr and Mrs Robert L Cone during a honey moon send off after their wedding. Three guests were hospitalized with injuries including a broken ankle a broken arm and a cut forehead. Dr Clifford B Harwood treated injuries at the scene and Lloyd Casey investigated. About 15 to 20 guests stood on the porch when it gave way.
