Bread for the World pushes specific hunger policy plan

Bread for the World circulated a provisional policy urging churches to press for action on hunger. It calls for a floor of economic decency with a minimum income and guaranteed employment, increased U.S. food aid, and ten percent of food exports toward a grain reserve. The plan also seeks one percent of GNP in aid and a severing of humanitarian aid from military and political objectives.
