Vermont energy policy vacuum calls for state leadership
Samuel Lloyd, Democratic state representative from Weston and head of Vermont's 1975 wood energy task force, argues that the state lacks a coherent energy policy to counter plans for a new nuclear facility. He outlines four alternative sources wood waste, municipal solid waste, hydro power, and conservation, plus side benefits and disposal issues, urging creation of a legislative administrative instrument to develop and implement a comprehensive state energy policy.
