Shaftsbury Selectmen reverse decision on zoning administrator post
Street by street, Shaftsbury officials reversed a vote and reappointed Wesley Bump as town zoning administrator after a push from seven of nine zoning board members who accused the selectmen of excluding them from the earlier process. The board also discussed fees and duties tied to building permit applications and considered separate appointments to the Board of Adjustment.

School bus costs and discipline raised at HFCS parents meeting
Supt Leonard described the 211 300 annual bus operating cost for 19 vehicles covering 100 square miles with 215 000 miles a year. He warned discipline is hard with 60 riders per bus and noted drivers do a tough job. Parents proposed volunteers to ride shotgun on buses while some drivers opposed that plan.
