Turkish navigator survives three day wreck ordeal
Sabahatin Ozen, 28, a Turkish sailor, survived three days trapped in the flooded engine room of the tanker Aygaz after it capsized 20 miles southwest of Sapienza in the Ionian Sea. Four of his crew died, others went overboard. Rescuers and frogmen opened the hull in Pylos, Greece, to reach him, then evacuated him to hospital and planned transfer to Istanbul.
