Public Service Board clears Central Vermont in Milton crash
The Public Service Board exonerated Central Vermont Railway of negligence in the December 1 Milton train truck collision that killed two Milton youths. It blamed driver James Cote for inattention and said companion Joseph Bouchard may have contributed. The board urged Milton to add stop and warning signs at the crossing, noting no skid marks and that Cote lived near the crossing and knew the visibility limits.
