Burlington based sociologist Dr. Daniel J. Scheans of the University of Vermont has won an NSF grant for field work in Los Norte Province Philippines. He will spend 12 to 15 months studying Barrio Suba peasant farmers and their social organization, supported by a $5,000 stipend plus allowances.
