Church World Service Seeks More Clothing Gifts in 1974

Manchester reports Church World Service shipped three million pounds of clothing and blankets to Brazil, Sudan, Indonesia, and India after spring and fall drives. Vermont contributed over 22 thousand pounds of clothing and thousands for blankets and processing. The spring appeal warns of a 40 percent drop in supplies while overseas requests nearly double. Donations of all clean used clothing are needed including adult and children’s sizes, infant garments, bandages, uniforms, blankets, and kits. Boxed items should have tops, be weighed, and bears the donor’s weight written on top. A 3 dollar blanket purchase option and 10 cent per pound processing charge apply.
