Searsburg Crash Kills Ted Ripley and David Walker
Theodore Ripley 39 and David S. Walker 39 die in a one car crash on Route 9 in Searsburg as Ripley’s Chevrolet Camaro left the road and rolled over. Ripley, longtime Post 13 baseball coach and Parks and Recreation official, was a Bennington community leader with roles in Little League and Southern Vermont Umpires.

Forrest King Moses of Eagle Bridge, son of Anna Mary Robertson Moses known as Grandma Moses, died Saturday at Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born May 17, 1893 in Stanton Virginia he lived in Eagle Bridge since 1905. He painted from 1949 onward and, like his mother, created more than 800 primitive works focused on local life. He attended Hoosick Falls High School graduating in 1914 and later Syracuse University. He married Mary J. Brown in 1916 and ran a farming and commercial gardening business with his family, with his son Carl continuing the venture.
