Hoff urges House to remap on population, not voters
Governor Hoff pressed the Vermont House Reapportionment Committee to prepare at least one population based realignment plan. He cited Supreme Court mandates and a New York district court ruling supporting population based apportionment, and urged including those plans in Vermont’s ultimate map. Two multi vehicle accidents in Bennington were reported by village police on East Main Street near the Williams IGA. A parked 1958 Ford was sideswiped by a 1964 GMC bus, causing moderate damage to both. A three car rear end collision occurred on Main Street, involving a 1963 Volkswagen, a 1964 Chevrolet, and a 1956 Plymouth station wagon, with braking failure noted. Hoff urged precautionary population based plans.
