Arlington Dirt Roads Slammed by Flooding Stranding Residents

River Road in West Arlington was washed out in several spots with the worst section between the covered bridge and Hawley Bridge isolating many homes. Red Mountain Road and Old West Road were badly damaged with severed passages and multiple washouts. Town Selectman Henry Breunich said culverts failed to handle the torrent, and relief funding from the last year's hurricane may help, while water officials reported no systemic water damage aside from silting at Red Mountain spring. A resident observed the flooded site of the proposed sewage treatment plant and marked the water height.
