Falls Board Hears Greenberg Road and Housing Plan

Falls Hardware owner Jerald Greenberg asked the Hoosick Falls town board to maintain and fund a 16 foot wide dirt road linking Troy and Saratoga streets for a proposed 22 acre housing project with 35 to 40 building lots and possible apartment complex. He would develop water and sewer lines at his own expense and suggested sharing gravel costs and creating a water district. The board noted road width standards and precedent concerns. In other business, Ernest Yorke and James North Jr. billed for plowing during a heavy snowstorm and the supervisors planned to review legality. A letter of commendation was to be sent for a Grange led rural house numbering project.
