Catamount Sixth Graders Stage Victorian Play at Park-McCullough House
Catamount School sixth graders study and perform a drama titled A Day at the Bradford Mansion at the Park McCullough House. Under teachers Ruth Salter and James Link, nine students in Salter's group helped create the production with Jeanne McWaters and Kathy Link. The moveable staging uses the House rooms as sets, with props from the collection and student-made items. The March 14 performance is open to parents and the public at 7:30 p.m. The project blends history, literature, and theatre learning as students imitate Victorian life through dialogue, letters, manners, and period activities. Participants include Mike Harwood and classmates Melissa Gropman Etienne Fonteneau Suzanne Frechette Karen Mailhot Mike Barrier Terry Foster Seth Bird Luke Godin.

FDR memorial plan clears design hurdle in Washington
The Fine Arts Commission unanimously approved a 900 foot granite wall park with pools and fountains for a Franklin Delano Roosevelt memorial. The design clears a major obstacle to a scenic memorial along the Tidal Basin. National Park Service studies environmental impact while Congress must approve up to 200 million dollars for construction.
