Davis to broaden Vermont Economic Development Commission
Gov. Deane C. Davis will keep alive the Vermont Economic Development Commission and broaden its role as spokesman for business in dealings with state agencies and planners. The panel, set up in January to boost the economy, filed its report last week and met Tuesday to discuss moving toward environmental protection while phasing in a proposed pay to pollute fee schedule. The Water Resources Board edges toward finalizing the fee system under the 1970 law requiring permits and fees for discharging wastes into state waters.
