The Vermont Labor Council advocates expansion of public schools to college level, creation of a state Department of Labor, and a $1.25 minimum wage boost at the 1965 General Assembly. The 1964 executive board meeting in Montpelier approved these measures proposed by council president Ralph.

The Vermont Senate sent to Gov. Hoff a bill reworking pari mutuel splits at Green Mountain Park in Pownal to aid the 6 million dollar track. The plan lowers state take to five percent and raises track share to 13 percent, with an additional four percent on daily handles over 200000 if the season average hits that mark.
Rioters sacked the U S and British embassies in Phnom Penh and burned the U S flag. Cars were overturned and windows shattered as protesters shouted anti U S and anti imperialist slogans. State Department said no Americans were injured and protests followed sharp Cambodian tensions with the United States amid regional neutrality talks.
Mack Molding Co and Equinox Lodge Local 1199 of the IAM AFL CIO signed a two year labor contract retroactive to Feb 1. The deal raises hourly wages by 3 cents the first year, 4 cents the second, with some departments getting 5 cents annually. About 145 workers are covered and most fringe benefits and holidays remain unchanged.
Washington reports suggest a smoldering clash between President Johnson and Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy. Some insiders tout excellent relations while others cite long standing friction and a New Hampshire write in drive as evidence of rift amid 1964 political maneuvering.
