Britain faced a second rail walkout in seven days as all trains stopped and health services were disrupted by a 220,000 hospital workers strike. POW says Nixon could have settled war earlier
A former North Vietnamese prisoner Maj. Hubert K. Flesher argues Nixon could have settled the Vietnam War four years earlier on the same terms. He criticizes U S involvement as meddling, recalls two POW factions, and says the peace terms of 1972 mirrored the 1969 offers. He supports amnesty for those opposed to the war and urges readjustment for returning servicemen.
