Bennington hosts an 8 p.m floor meeting at the Elementary School to vote on 8 of 17 warning articles with the rest likely on Tuesday's ballot. Voters will consider a 98 cent General Fund tax rate, based on 50 percent of fair market value, and a separate 50 cent highway fund rate to raise 50 thousand dollars. An article would authorize leasing land along Willow Road to the Bennington Rural Fire Department. A tax payment date will be set. Town meeting voting runs 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday with ballots cast at Bennington Elementary and North Bennington Firehouse for village residents. Article 12 asks for a 5 thousand dollar sinking fund for highway equipment.
