Tap Out Time In Dorset Sugar Harvest Begins
Dorset residents begin tapping maple trees as a warm spell prompts a rush of activity. Austin Rumney and colleagues hang 1200 buckets to start sap collection while others like Leon Edgerton, Paul McWayne, Harlan Coolidge, Ray McWayne, and the Warren family prepare equipment and plan extended operations for the season. In East Dorset Harold Beebe uses 1500 taps, but last year orders stretched supply.
