Ledbetter Cleared By Panel For Banking Insurance Post
The Senate Finance Committee approved Stewart Ledbetter of Dorset as commissioner of Banking and Insurance by a five to one vote. Opponents predict a floor fight led by Sen. Robert Daniels of Chittenden County, who questions Ledbetter’s insurance expertise and Gov Snelling’s pattern of appointing outsiders. Ledbetter, a Manchester realtor, would head the department.
