Planning Board But No Money Voted For Pownall Town Recreation Area
Voters approved forming a five member planning board to plan a municipal swimming and recreation area but rejected an article to create a sinking fund of 2000 dollars a year for five years. They also defeated two appraisal appropriations and an exemption from the 1965 poll tax for active volunteer firemen. Other votes approved maintenance for three fire departments, ambulance support, insurance for volunteers, a library grant, and a group hospitalization plan for town employees. The town tax and turnout details are given with several uncontested offices filled.
