Gov. Philip Hoff says Vermont Republicans in the House back an adjourned session to finish business by late spring and return next January to consider his program. In a worsening domestic crisis President Charles de Gaulle confronts a coal mine strike led by Socialist Workers' Force and allied unions. Miners demand an 11 percent wage rise and a 40 hour week with no pay loss, threatening draft, fines, and trials if work does not resume.
