Storms ignite fires and flood Hoosick Falls streets
Severe electrical storms battered Hoosick Falls tearing up roads and cutting power across all four wards. A barn on Rogers Avenue burned beyond salvage after a lightning strike, while a transformer fire damaged a home on Main Street. Bridges on Route 7 and Bair Road were washed out by a swollen tributary, with debris and downed wires complicating travel. Power was restored by morning and fire crews cleared hazards, including a high tension wire fire downtown.
