Arsenic and Old Lace thrills Weston in strong revival
Weston presents Joseph Kesselring’s comedy Arsenic and Old Lace with Walter Boughton directing Amherst College company delivering brisk farce and creeping suspense. George Bentley and Robert Carrick lead a strong cast as Mortimer and the mad scientist, with Marion Blake and Georgia Wyeth shaping the Brewster sisters and Bruce Soyer adding a savage Jonathan Brewster. The production blends brisk mime, shocking humor, and a final relief that leaves the audience unsettled yet amused.

Dorset's Marigolds Review Falls Short in Drama
Dorset's Carriage Players stage Marigolds with Pat Carmichael delivering sharp comic moments alongside Lucie Woolson. The production struggles with tonal balance as Dion Drislane's earnest portrayal clashes with a heavy-handed exploration of parental influence. The science metaphor lands weakly, leaving the audience to question the play’s deeper message despite strong performances.
