New York Blue Cross to fund hospital abortions and maternity benefits
New York Blue Cross plans to pay cash benefits to subscribers treated for abortions in member hospitals under the new state law. The board approved an indemnity plan and will extend maternity benefits for single females and dependent children on group contracts. Payments may range from 80 to 150 dollars for abortions and 50 to 100 dollars for doctor services under related plans, pending state Insurance Department approval. Bennington to share TOPICS highway costs under 2 percent
Bennington's portion of the state federal TOPICS highway program will be under 2 percent of the $406,650 total cost, with $7,500 due over five years.
