Vera Langlais and the Knights family from North Pownal along with relatives attended the Merrimack Valley High School graduation in Timberlake Town, New Hampshire. Ronald Knights will attend Plymouth State College, while Robert Knight plans for military service. First Communion at Our Lady of Lourdes Church saw thirteen Pownal youths receive the sacrament with music by Leo Bisson and scapulars presented by Mrs. Harvey Du Bois.

HOOSICK FALLS N Y Miss Nolan Baker daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward Baker of 93 High Street was among 73 graduates Sunday at the 66th commencement exercises at St Peter's Hospital school of nursing She is granddaughter of Mrs Estella Baker of Main Street Bennington Vt and a 1965 graduate of St Mary's Academy She attended Maria College in Albany for a year of nursing study and will begin duties July 22 as a registered nurse at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington.

Two Men and Dog Escape Flames In Dorset House Fire
A Dorset fire around 10 p.m. Saturday gutted the interior of Sherman Nichols’ home on Route 30, forcing Nichols and his companion Quin cy Jones to flee. Jones carried Nichols to safety and returned inside to search for Peggy the dog, escaping with the pet through a broken window. Firefighters arrived after a passerby alerted them. power lines were burned and needed cutting. The house remains standing but badly charred. it has changed owners since Frank Lindsay sold it to Nichols, in Dorset’s fourth house fire of the year.

Youth Fellowship Plans June Meeting at Church
