GOP Unity Session Sets Stage for Fall Election Push

HUD Grants for YMCA Center in Vermont

HUD awarded 233 447 to the YMCA Center for Southeastern Vermont for a Bennington facility part of a 956 000 project. Part one already underway is ineligible. the second wing, funded now, aims to complete the building. Prouty urged HUD to waive rules so the main structure may qualify.

Grievance Day Rites Begin in Bennington Vermont

Sixteen area residents filed grievances on property assessments at the Bennington office between 9 and 11 AM. House Refuses Funds For Dickey Lincoln Project

The House rejected a $807,000 pre construction funding amendment for Maine's Dickey Lincoln hydroelectric project on a 90 to 60 vote. Opponents called the plan wasteful while supporters argued it would lower New England power costs and create about 2000 Maine jobs during six years of construction.
