Radiation concerns and risks of nuclear power rise
Dr. Lyon warns radiation leaks from uranium cores can reach 100 million curies and long term low level exposure damages living tissue. He cites 1942 to 1966 nuclear accidents, calls plants unreliable and uneconomical, notes high public cost, and argues uranium by products fuel weapons rather than electricity while Britain shifts to natural gas.
