Williams Warns Village Over Union School Withdrawal
John H. Williams Ml 29 of 155 Main St. a candidate for the Union High School District board from the Bennington Graded School District warns the village that withdrawing from the union could bring financial losses and educational setbacks. He cites a $40,000 village assessment for the union district’s operation and potential $75,000 annual tuition loss if others form a separate union high school. He urges continued cooperation in education and broader town village planning. Williams notes lack of taxpayer awareness and calls for liaison with education officials. He also emphasizes village benefits from cooperation and the risks of disruption to kindergarten and pre school programs.
