Rescue Diver Team Delayed By Depth Limits And Tethering
The Navy submarine rescue effort faced delays as the Tringa ship prepared for a dive, with divers unable to reach the sunken craft due to a 200 foot depth limit for scuba gear. Four tethers held the fringe vessel, but a light revealed the sub was wedged in a destroyer wreck not a cable. Divers opted not to descend, deeming the task too dangerous.
