American woman killed by shrapnel near Dead Sea in Israel
A 25-year-old American tourist Shirley Anderson of Rochester New York and an Israeli civilian were killed in an artillery and mortar duel near the Dead Sea. The exchange lasted about 90 minutes and occurred near Al Maghtass four miles north of the Dead Sea.
