Regional Planning Commission Seeks Federal Aid and Bypass Review
The Bennington Regional Planning Commission discussed eligibility for the federal Housing and Home Finance Agency 701 program which would fund two thirds of a comprehensive plan with the local share. They also planned to pursue a meeting with Vermont highway officials on a U S 7 Bennington Bypass and to request planning consultant lists from the Vermont Development Department. The board reviewed a Town Farm recreation survey by The Allen Organization and appointed a committee to study it, while arranging a master plan for the site as a potential state park. The report notes Allen projects may yield a premier municipal park. They also scheduled a Tuesday meeting with Albany planner John C Burdis and prepared to interview several consultants.
