Hartland votes down open space tax plans in Vermont
In Hartland Vermont voters rejected open space taxation concepts by 301 to 146 after proposing four options. Officials blame lack of awareness apathy and fears of higher taxes and benefit to out of state developers. A reappraisal is pending and officials say the issue may resurface with future land use challenges.

The Flower Kingdom of Chick Charlestream in Eagle Bridge
A vivid profile of Chick Charlestream in Eagle Bridge who turns a shed into a Flower Kingdom. He blends horticultural lore with sales talk, painting a sunlit scene of Blooms along River Road and Hoosie River, where his plants sprawl across fences and ground. Charlestream’s eccentric compass of gold blooms, Bronx accent, and chalked horticulturalist title frame a quirky local landscape.
