VPIRG ranks Bennington County legislators as the most liberal on 20 key consumer and environmental issues for 1975 76. Reps Orrin Beattie Michael Nawrath Jane Gardner Thomas Foster David Shaffe and Edwin Colvin cited as high scorers with 100 95 9 8 8 and 30 percent respectively. senators Robert Cummings and Merritt Hewitt also praised with strong totals.

Bennington Court Handles Multiple Local Court Cases
Randall Caplette 21 of Pownal pleaded not guilty to armed robbery and two fugitive from justice counts in Massachusetts with $11 000 bail. In Bennington on June 2 Fresh Air children arrive with five girls aged 7 to 10 and two boys aged 6 and 8 from last year awaiting invitations to return. Nancy E Felsheim of Bennington graduated with honors June 5 from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BA in psychology and will pursue graduate work at American University. Invitations must be issued by June 22 as hosts are scarce.
