Pownal seeks cure for school sewage woes
The enlarged Fownal Elementary School remains unenrolled by the school board as $95,000 owed to Connecticut Valley Construction is withheld. A new subsurface drainage ditch along the north side is to be bid, aiming to curb groundwater seepage blamed for the sewage field issues. If this fails, expansion of leaching fields may be explored with Act 250 permits required.
