Bennington Banner (Newspaper) - June 7, 1963, Bennington, Vermont Williams College Tennis courts open to Public Williamstown Williams College Tennis courts on Lynde Lane will re open to the Public monday june to with the same charges that existed for non College users last year it was announced today by Peter p. Welanetz director of physical Plant. The 12 Quick drying and six hard surface courts will be open Dally to the Public for a fee from 9 . To 8 ., next monday through labor Day. An exception will be june 24-29 when the United states Lawn Tennis association will hold its interscholastic Competition with 60 individuals competing. The hard surface courts will be available throughout this period and the Public will be permitted to use a a pm Pink of a i to the Clay courts As they Are vacated. In order to Reserve a court a player must Post his name on the bulletin Board at the courts players May use a court for a maximum of two hours. If after the two hour session there Are still open courts the players May sign up again. This practice avoids monopoly of the playing surface. The Public is requested not to Call any College office of the courts Are closed and no attendant is in duty and All players Are requested to Wear regulation Tennis shoes. The College reserves the right to close any courts necessary for special events.
