Manchester residents oppose demolition dump on North Road
A North Road protest meeting urged the Manchester selectmen to move a proposed demolition dump from Harry's property to land owned by Carrie Squires on North Road. Residents argued it would lower property values, cause fumes and nuisance, and prefer a joint Dorset study of alternate locations.

Manchester selectmen dodge earful on zoning plan
With Chairman Clyde Bryant Jr. absent, selectmen tabled most agenda items to June 19. The zoning board proposed Wyman Lane become one way eastbound from Route 7 to Robert Cone's road and added a stop line to ease Route 7 congestion, drawing neighborhood protest over access and parking for a proposed Route 1130 shopping arcade at Horton's Hardware and Berry Wall complex. Town Manager Porter floated a third eastside lane from Bertha Kelly's to 11 20 to allow right on red, but would require sidewalk work and relocation near the sport shop and corner mall. The board will discuss with Bryant before deciding.
