Bennington Trustees Discuss Traffic Proposals and Meter Upgrade
Village President Salvatore Santarcangelo urged the traffic committee to study parking bans on West Main Street South and North Street and a North Street traffic plan for the A and P shopping center. A traffic island at Putnam Square and a left turn lane on North Street were reviewed. Trustees debated meter revenue loss from parking bans as Duncan-Miller proposed replacing 200 meters with self paying units, with a $60 each cost and a $10 trade in. The committee was to survey current meters and report by month end.
