Estimated Tax on Grand List 1968 69 for 20 Classrooms
A bond proposal for Mount Anthony Union High School would fund 20 new classrooms with a 20 year repayment plan. The plan claims no net tax increase, as the bond cost would replace existing rental expenses and reduce in per district shares as grand lists rise. The proposal argues the fixed mortgage cost is cheaper than rising rents and ultimately lowers education costs per year. The measure would add about 11 cents to the grand list initially, with an average 8 cents over the bond period, benefiting Bennington district and others. The town says the project yields permanent facilities with no tax hike. The article also notes the July 4 art show at Becky's Stone House has been canceled and to contact Mrs. Kennon for registrants.

School Bond Vote-3: Mt Anthony Wing Cost Question
Residents of Mt Anthony Union School District vote June 5 on adding a wing to MAUHS after Bennington Catholic High closure. Experts argue debt service, financed with state aid, will not raise taxes, since principal is paid down yearly and state covers portions of debt and operating costs.
