Seattle Trust and Savings Bank launches an energy efficient financing package with rates at 8.5 percent for energy certified homes, 8 percent for eligible renovations and four year car loans. The program began July 6 and requires a qualifying energy checklist and a checking account at the bank.
Harold Harty of Battelle Northwest says a Hanford energy park housing 40 nuclear reactors risks long term heat waste and regional outage. He warns 80 to 100 year commitment may lock in changes, with heat affecting climate and local weather, while urging closer siting to population centers as a safer option.
Hyduke moved through Athol and Barre and Claremont and Keene and Burlington and Brattleboro and Waterville and Newport before taking over here. Hyduke has been succeeded as manager by Donald Lehman.
Henry S. Powell Jr. has been named vice president of Aerotron Inc and general manager of the Tansitor division. Powell, a Bennington resident and University of Maine engineering physics graduate, joined Tansitor in March as director of sales and marketing and will report to himself in the new role. He previously led plant and regional sales at Components Inc, now Corning. Powell named Robert Ritchie director of sales and John Cadwallader product engineer manager for Tansita Barbados Ltd, with Ritchie in Bennington and Cadwallader in West Arlington. both report to Powell.
Arlington dealer Doug Tschorn installed three independent pumps near Mobil outlets. He alleges Mobil tried to cancel his contract after removing a Mobil sign and resisting upgrades. Mobil calls it a communication problem while Tschorn says he will stay independent and continue credit sales.

Winslow transfer property to Donald M. and Laurel K. Tuller with Cassano noted as manager of production services at Ben-Mont Corp. on July 28. Dale S. and Maureen A. MacDonald sell 112 North Branch St to Ronald P. and Kathleen M. Perrott for 28500 on July 29. Francis V. and Jennette B. McHale transfer Marilyn Street residence to Martin R. and Deborah B. Cohen for 45500 on July 29. Hazel L. Wilkinson transfers to John C. and Jean F. Phillips a corner lot at Jewett Drive and Dermody Road for 38000 on July 29. William H. Morse transfers to Francis B. Woodward lots 101 and 2 on Cyr Court and Tel Road for 4000 each on July 29.
