Snelling Attacks Tax Cut Claims As Unrealistic
Richard A. Snelling of Shelburne, Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, denounced rivals for promising $5 to $10 million annual state savings without cutting services. He told Rutland Kiwanis that $54 million of Vermont’s $60 million annual government cost pays essential needs, with much returned as town aid or bid-based contracts unlikely to shrink. He urged separating irreducible costs from optional items before estimating savings.
